Why documentary, not corporate film

Donors don't believe gloss

01

Proof, not claims

People who give want to see that it's real: the face of the person who was helped, not a stock photo. I film what is there — no archive footage, no AI imagery, nothing staged.

02

One person, not a crew

Small setup, unobtrusive, fast. In sensitive situations trust matters more than gear — and trust doesn't come with five people behind the camera.

03

Built for impact

Every film is cut for its job: fundraising campaign, annual report, member assembly, social media. Landscape and vertical, subtitled, multilingual on request.

Process

How I work in the field

  1. Step 01

    Briefing & ethics

What should the film achieve, and with whom? Who can be shown, who can't? Consent, safeguarding and do-no-harm are settled before the camera comes out.

  2. Step 02

    Research on site

Listen first, film second. I get to know the people and the project — the best scenes are never in the shot list.

  3. Step 03

    Shoot

One to several days, one person, light kit. Interviews at eye level, everyday life instead of staging.

  4. Step 04

    Edit & approval

Rough cut for feedback, then fine cut, colour, sound, subtitles. Protagonists see their scenes before anything is published.

  5. Step 05

    Delivery

Every format the campaign needs — plus the raw footage for your archive. Impact figures after launch on request.

FAQ

Before you ask

We're a small organisation with no budget. Is that still possible?

Usually, yes. Grassroots groups without a communications budget get reduced rates — in return I use the film as a reference. Just get in touch.

How do you protect the people you film?

Nobody is filmed who hasn't explicitly agreed — written consent, from guardians in the case of minors. Protagonists see their scenes before publication. If a situation shouldn't be shown, it isn't.

Do you travel abroad?

Yes. One person, light kit, field-ready setup. Briefing and communication in English or German, subtitles in other languages on request.

Who owns the material?

You do. Full usage rights to the finished film and, on request, the raw footage for your archive — unlimited in time, for every channel.
